"WORSHIP"

Married to Georgie and also on the town council, Lucia is overjoyed when she is asked to  become Mayor of Tilling. Georgie is also delighted but is soon dismayed when he finds out that he will not have any social standing in the affair, and that Lucia wants them to set a good example to the citizens of Tilling, and stop gossiping and eat plain fare. Meanwhile, she must appoint a Lady Mayoress, and, not surprisingly, her female friends vie for the position. Poor Susan Wyse, having sat on her budgerigar and squashed it quite flat, is now wearing the deceased bird on her hat, and is quite distraught when the decoration falls into her raspberry soufflé during a dinner Lucia is giving for the candidates. Mapp is also furious when a humorous photograph that Quaint Irene has taken of her is printed in the local paper. Lucia and Georgie also make bicycling the new craze of Tilling, although Lucia blots her copybook when she is caught speeding along the High Street and is fined.
