The boxed set containing 50 sheets of 6"x 4" painting card, 8 Dehan wax blocks plus one clear Dehan wax and one of each metallic and the all important instruction book, to be read as a last resort ie everything you need except an iron.

This is what the kit looks like from the front and the back.
The colours included are all transluscent. Numbers 1 Black, 3 Yellow, 4 Scarlet, 6 Royal Blue, 7 Tan, 10 Mahogany, 12 Purple, 17 Olive Green and Clear,
They were chosen to be suitable for both realistic type landscapes and/or fantasy ones.
There is no white, not at this stage. Use the clear to lighten things. White is the only opaque colour, if you mix it with any of the standard colours it turns them opaque too. When you are just starting, the transluscent colours will give you the better effects, worry about opaque ones later. Get a white next time, when you know what sort of colours you will use most.
In the concentrated form the blocks of wax appear very dark, but most paint much lighter - not the scarlet or the yellow, they come out pretty much as they look in block form.

The three metallic waxes are gold, silver and copper coloured.
Use them to highlight things and use sparingly, use too much and you loose the metallic effect. With these a little goes a long way.
