MASTER CLASSES/WORKSHOPS

Angela holds workshops at Bramhall Baptist Church, Stockport, UK. The church has a piano, excellent acoustic and friendly atmosphere. The usual professional accompanist is Anna Le Hair.

Participants learn from each other's performances as well as their own. The workshop is for anyone who would like to work individually on 2 or 3 pieces of music during the day with a concert in the evening when pieces can be performed. Duets and ensembles are welcome too.

The next workshop is Saturday July 5th.
The Christmas workshop is Saturday December 6th.

Comments from previous workshops:

I always enjoy working with Angela as accompanist at her workshops, which I have done for a number of years now. Her teaching is inspiring and the ease with which she communicates with the students ensures that they go away feeling encouraged and excited about their singing abilities.
Anna Le Hair (Accompanist)

As an Accompanist and Piano Teacher I can say without reservation that Angela Rowley  has a special talent of communicating her enthusiasm and delight in her music, and her teaching skills and outstanding singing voice make her a popular and very effective teacher.
Carol Sargent

Attending Angela’s workshops, I hear audible evidence of how she has brought her pupils on with positive encouragement, grace and good humour.  I suppose I am nearer the “experienced” end of the spectrum, but I always come away with valuable suggestions and improvements, which she identifies with quickness and keen insight.
Glyn Roberts (Singer)

Angela is a talented and inspirational teacher who is full of good advice and is very encouraging. I don't think anyone else could have persuaded me to stand up and "have a go" at singing workshops.
Kath Powell (Singer)

Angela's approach is always positive and encouraging. The quality of her advice has resulted in a real and perceptible improvement in my singing technique.
Leslie Robinson (Singer)

By the end of the day, I feel a better singer than at the start.  Angela not only works on the vocal aspect of singing, but also on the performance as a whole, how we stand, our facial expressions and any obvious traits that the audience may pick up on. I am always very impressed with her knowledge and the easy-going, gentle way she deals with some very tricky issues.
Mary Hardiman (Singer)

Angela has that very special gift of being able to be critical whilst remaining pleasant and positive. She improves one’s technique and interpretive skills in a few kind but well-chosen words and always gives her students food for thought.
Helen Basson (Singer)

I have attended and enjoyed two of Angela's workshops.  Angela runs her workshops with huge enthusiasm and energy.  She is a great encourager whilst helping each individual with their technique. The workshop atmosphere is always relaxed and welcoming.
Christine Goddard (Singer)

I have greatly benefited from attending Angela’s workshops – even though I am used to ‘performing’ in front of people (I am a University lecturer), I was terrified by the prospect of singing in public. With Angela’s excellent coaching and support I have developed confidence and learned how to make the most of my voice and vocal performance skills.
Anne Sykes (Singer)

Angela always gets the best performance out of anyone that she works with, whether  a seasoned performer or a relative beginner.  She always does it with insight, empathy and humour.  Her own beautiful singing is something to which we all aspire.
Glad Capewell (Singer)

I really enjoyed the last singing workshop, you always manage to bring out the best in people, no matter at what stage they are with their singing experience and move them on instilling self belief, confidence, joy and a desire to explore and appreciate the music we were singing, at a deeper level.
Maria Kaiser (Singer)
