Holly
Ilex aquifolium
Height up to 10m
English Holly has a lustrous dark green, undulating, spiny-margined leaf that is quite distinct from other hollies. The leaves vary considerably in size ranging from 1-3" long and .75-2.5" wide. Dull white fragrant flowers occur during May. There are numerous cultivars of this species available.

Familiar Christmas decoration, common and widespread in woods and hedges. Stiff, leathery leaves have spiny margins; dark green above but paler below. White, 4-petalled flowers appear MayJuly and clusters of red berries ripen in autumn.
