Information about
the
Twinning Association
Who can join?
If you are a Braunston
Resident you are already a member of the Twinning Association.
Read on to find out what the Association does and how to take
an active part you will be warmly welcomed. Some people
from nearby villages have also joined.
What does
it do?
Each year the Twinning
Association arranges an exchange visit in odd numbered
years we visit them and in even years they visit us. We stay
in each others' homes and there are plenty of things to see and
do see the other column.
But that is not all. Throughout the year our committee organises
a programme of entertaining activities in and around Braunston
details below.
Do I have
to speak French?
NO. Lack of ability to speak French is not
a problem and should not put you off from taking the plunge.
I have been
to France, so what's the point?
You will have enjoyed seeing the lovely countryside and eating
the marvellous food but will not really have met the French people.
To actually stay with a French family and see and enjoy the French
way of life from their perspective is an enjoyable and enriching
experience as we hope it is for them when they visit us.
This is an excellent and inexpensive way to visit France, sample
the food, buy cheap booze and fags, make good friends, learn
or improve your language skills and properly experience the French
way of life.
How do we
get there?
The Association arranges
the travel but you can go independently if you wish.

En route to Q-V in 2001
What does
it cost?
You will have to pay your share of the travel costs but you will
be guests in a French home naturally, those able to do
so, are expected to return the hospitality when they visit us
What next?
If you want to be involved in the next visit or want to know
more, then contact Bev
Hankinson (01788 891988) or Tony
Ward (01788 899105). |
