The Thorpe Camp Preservation Group has set up a Visitor Centre to commemorate those who fought for freedom in World War 2 based in Lincolnshire. Thorpe Camp was attached to the airfield at Woodhall Spa where 97, 617(Dambusters), 619 & 627 Squadrons were based. Recent Additions Thorpe Camp Visitor Centre is open every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday from Easter to the end of September and on Wednesdays during July & August from 2 to 5 pm. Entry just £2. Diary Dates 2008 13 April - Book Launch of "We wanted Wings" by John Pearl 27 April - Boston & District Classic Car Club Rally. 4 May - Hamfest for Radio Hams @10.30am 10 May - Old Timers Radio Club 18 May - B5 Bomber Boys - wartime clothing exhibits. 1 June - Lincolnshire Oil Engine Club display and Rally. 13 July - MG Owners Club with over 70 vintage cars on display. 26/27July - 'We'll meet again' - 1940's Nostlagia w/e.
