Formed on the 18 April 1943 at Woodhall Spar as part of 5 Group (with just 3 crews left by 97 Sqn), its first operation was on 11 June. It formed part of the Main Force of Lancasters bombing Germany. On 9 January 1944 it moved to Conningby and subsequently to Dunhome Lodge and Strubby where it was disbanded on 17 July 1945.
