The joint day with the Battle of Britain
Memorial Flight (BBMF) as part of the Imperial War Museum's travelling
exhibition "Their Past, Your Future" was a huge success
with crowds of visitors and a full car park. The Visitor Centre
was open, with all its usual exhibits, but there was a large
collection of additional things to see. Some of them are shown
below -

The Lincolnshire Vintage Vehicle Society provided an old "Bristol"
bus which ran regular trips carrying visitors between Thorpe
Camp and BBMF Visitor Centre.

Some of the old military vehicles which were on
display.

The Vintage Military Amateur Radio Society displayed a selection
of old sets including the famous "19 Set" used in tanks.

Another old set, this time powered by "elbow
power".

Varied collections of memorabelia were on display.

machine gun used by USA paratroopers.

A large audience watched a demonstration of war-time cookery
