THE HERITAGE GALLERY and LIBRARY

wall exhibits The Library contains many books, maps and documents relating to Deal and District history. A large photographic archive and copies of local baptism, marriage and burial records make useful reference material for family research. These are available for inspection, by appointment, to all Friends of the Museum.

There is insufficient room in this gallery to display all that we could say of Deal's archaeology & architecture and its social & industrial development. We display a rotational selection covering each of the areas.

The archaeology of this area is rich. Much has to remain in store until we can achieve better conditions in which to display it. However photographs, drawings and some objects will give some idea to the visitor of the depth of the history of this part of Kent.

With photographs and maps we trace the growth of Deal from a noisome seaport to the gentle refined seaside resort it has now become.

Many famous people have chosen throughout history to make their home on this coast. A changing variety of these personalities is always on show.
