Iolanda is 16 now. She is happy.
I'm glad of that. My mind is troubled. I regret what I
did to Patronus. Now I must make up for it. We Spartans care nothing for the Arts ... we
care not for fine buildings, we do little writing.
But Marblus is here from Athens. I have asked him to carve a
statue in honour of Patronus. He was a great soldier, a member of the Ephorate
no less ... he was a great Spartan. May all the world in time to come remember him and his
great deeds.
... and forget how he met his end at my hand.
I'll go and call on Maricus and Assena, get them to come and
watch Marblus at work. I shall take my secrets to the grave with me.
