Tiger, Brahman & Jackal

Read the story, then see if you can put these events in their proper order. You'll need to print this page.

  1. The tiger leaped upon the poor man, and pinned him to the ground.
  2. The Brahman  came upon a buffalo turning a well-wheel. The buffalo had no sympathy for him.
  3. There was a fearsome tiger who had been caught in a great strong trap.
  4. Even the road itself gave no sympathy to his problem.
  5. The Tiger decided to eat the Brahman but made a deal. The Brahman told the Tiger that he was ungrateful.
  1. He came across a jackal and explained the entire story . The jackal pretended to be confused.
  2. Soon a large tree came into view. The tree had no sympathy for him.
  3. The Tiger said "If you can find three things who agree with you then I will allow you to go free."
  4. But as much as he tried, he still could not make the jackal comprehend.
  5. The tiger crawled back into the cage to demonstrate.
  6. The Tiger lost patience with the jackal.
  7. The jackal  shut the door, locking the tiger back inside.
  8. Jackal and Brahman went back to the Tiger.
  9. The Brahman took pity on the Tiger and let him out.
