The old red Phone Boxes one on the Feltwell Road and the other in Upgate Street were removed and replaced with the new ones of today.

A Halloween Disco was held for the under 11s at the village hall with about 90 Children dressed in Fancy Dress. Mr. and Mrs. Shellcot judged the fancy dress. The under 7 year old winner was a spider and the over 7 winner was


1995

Class 1 Southery Primary School.

Class 4 Southery Primary School.


On the second day of the sugar beet campaign a lorry returning from the factory crashed into the garden, stopping only 4 feet from the house on the Feltwell Road at the junction to Hallsclose.


The lead on the Church Spire was repaired this summer.

The year started of with the Village Hall being damage bad by fire.

Then an eclipse of the sun was not very good because of the cloud.

A new bus shelter being built at the top of Upgate Street and the old shop, fish shop was pulled down with 3 new homes started to be built on the land. The Hall was opened up again with a new doctors room and all new decorations.

WILDLIFE IN THE FENS


Birch
Few trees match the style of the Birch. The narrow trunk, silvery bark and slender branches ending in a mass of drooping twigs have the outline of a fountain that produces a cascade of delicate leaves. No wonder it has become know as the lady of the woods.
