Lance Thomas has been in and out of studios since 1984 he has crafted his art and his ear with some great bands and some great mentors. He has an innate sense of cool. Everything he possesses from his techniques to his gear has to look, feel and sound great. In the late 1980’s lance was at Salford’s college of recording and was taken under the wing of Bill Leader one of the UK’s legendary producers (Pentangle, Bert Jansch, Gerry Rafferty) and was presented his certificate by the colleges patron Sir George Martin. He spent the early 90’s in Manchester working with bands such as Molly HalfHead and GoldBlade at various studios that included Suite 16 (Joy Division/New Order's studio) Square One and The Cutting Rooms. The late 90’s were spent in Liverpool where he was the in house producer/engineer at "The Laboratory Liverpool Music House. Artists he worked with in that period included: Jane Weaver, PJ Harvey, Hugh Cornwell, The Farm, China Crisis, The Quarrymen (John Lennon’s first band), Gluebound, The Moggs, Superstar, CarterUSM, Tyla, The Tables, Mike Badger & Playhouse. From the 2000 to the present day he’s been a freelance producer/engineer working out of various studios: Bryn Derwen, North Wales. Foel, Mid Wales. Monnow Valley, South Wales. Milo 3 and 4 London. Ape Studios, Wirral. Artists in that period have included: TWISTED CHARM, THE CARDINALS, GREENWICH RESIDENT, SIMIAN, LADYTRON, MUDDYHEAD, MARK RAE, KATE RODGERS, NIKO, THE THINKING REEDS, THE FAMOUS LAST WORDS, BEN ONONO, THE HEROES OF TELEMARK, THE BREAKMAKERS, THE MOONIES, THE PIES, VISIONARY MINDSET EXPERIENCE (Gary Daly ex CHINA CRISIS), FREEMAKER, WHITE HEAT, ANDY STEELE & UNDERGROUND BALLROOM. Lance has also had Co-writes with some of the artists he works with and can play a multitude of instruments when needed. He owns a plethora of vintage gear some of which he has built himself.
