GariochRR This Week

March 20, 2006Running despatches from the heart of the Garioch
Announcements
Hello again - long time no hear! After a prolonged winter hibernation, the weekly news is back. It does seem a little premature hibernation-wise judging by the lousy running weather we've been having, but hey, its never too horrible to run out there (believe me I've tried!).

So how have you been? Have you been keeping the running up through the dark nights, or still waiting for Spring to sprung?

Well good news - the clocks change this weekend, so the light nights are only a few days away....

---------------

Congratulations to our runners who ran in Nairn 10k at the weekend.
Results were as follows:-
Ian Cran 41:14
Steve Waites 44:53
Phil Owens 47:40.
Well done guys!

---------------

Well Done also to our GRRers who made it through the poor road conditions to last weekend's Inverness Half Marathon. The event has grown in recent years and this year included chip timing - well done to the organisers. Commiserations to those who were all pumped up for the race and got beat by the crappy driving conditions.
Results were as follows:-
Sandra Reid 1:41:35 (PB)
John Parr 1:34:04

The GariochRR AGM will soon be upon us!

Make a note in your diaries for 20th April at 8.00pm (after a short club run).
As usual the AGM will be in the meeting room at the Garioch Sports centre, Inverurie.
Please contact Steve ('the sec') Waites with your nominations for office bearers (go on make his day!) and also nominations for the John Sharp Trophy.
Also, dont miss our chairman's debut speech outlining the achievements of the club over the year; I know Pete has been working long and hard into the small wee hours on this, for this much anticipated presentation.

In a discussion on the club run last week, Pete asked who all got PB's last year. Its a good question - so lets find out. Please send an email to bruce@axoninstruments.com listing what you distance you got your PB at, and we'll get some statistics together for Pete's big speech.
Alternatively you can send a text: Simply send 'PB' followed by '10k' or 'half' or 'mar' or 'none' and your name to 07808055382
