GariochRR Website Survey

Thanks to everyone so far who has completed the GariochRR website questionaire.
We could really do with a some more responses, so if you havent done so yet, then read on for more details....your opinion really does count!

Do you ever visit the GariochRR club website? (www.gariochrr.freeuk.com)
Sure, it hasnt been updated for a wee while, but we are planning a few updates.
But we first need to find out a wee bit more about what GRR club members would find useful/interesting to have on the site.
So if you could spare a few moments to answer a few questions, then we'll have a better idea what should be available online.
Its completely annonymous, so dont hold back on your comments - this is about what we do to improve things.
Give it a go - it will give us something to discuss a the AGM.

FREE Drink at the GRR AGM!

The GariochRR AGM will soon be upon us, so make a note in your diaries for 20th April at 8.00pm (after a short club run).
As usual the AGM will be in the meeting room at the Garioch Sports centre, Inverurie.

In a departure from the usual tea & cakes refreshments, we've decided to up the calorific intake to cheese & wine; so please leave the car at home if you are planning having more than a tipple.

Please contact Steve ('the sec') Waites with your nominations for office bearers (go on make his day!) and also nominations for the John Sharp Trophy.

Thanks for all who sent a reply to the GRR PB survey. There's still time to respond to this - for anyone who missed last week's request, Charman Pete Stephen wants to know how many runners in GariochRR got PB's in the last year. Its not the actual time for your PB(s) that is of interest here, just if you ran a new PB in the last 12 months. The statistics on our achievements will be included in Pete's big speech at the AGM; so if you could send an email to listing what distance you got your PB at, that would be grand.
Alternatively you can send a text: Simply send 'PB' followed by '10k' or 'half' or 'mar' or 'none' and your name to 07808055382

Getting fed up listeneing to the same old music on your MP3 player on those lonely long runs?

Then check out a bloke called Steve Runner (www.steverunner.com).
He does this 30min 'Podcast' that you can download to your MP3 player and listen to on your long run. He records a discussion on a running topic, some running related music & other ramblings while he is out on his long run the week before.

He's been training for the Boston marathon on April 17 & seems to have gone through all the usual injury woes / motivation crisises etc.

Despite his American nationality, his podcasts (inc. archives) contain a few interesting bits - I liked his discussion on 'the long run' including an all too familliar conversation with his wife before setting off.
Check it out....
