GariochRR This Week

August 07, 2006Running despatches from the heart of the Garioch
Announcements
Well the memories of my summer holiday are fading faster then my Oman suntan; but fear not I say to myself, for the summer silly season is well and truely upon us.....No news for ages, then all hell breaks loose; GRR start crowding the race podiums, and GRR runners start appearing on the tv every other night....

First Donna Gray gets interviewed on last Wednesday's edition of The Adventure Show on BBC1 in an article on the Ythan Challenge, closely followed by Graham Donaldson streaking across the screen in GRR club vest at full tilt (nothing new about the last bit at least...)

Then John Edwards appears on BBc1 on Friday night (alas sadly not in a GRR club vest on this occasion) on a jolly interesting program about the history of Scottish shipbuilding - we must get some GRR club ties in time for your next TV/P&J appearance (well done John by the way!)

Then GRR's ex-pat Penny Bambridge arrives back in town, places 3rd lady in the Ballater 10m, & then finishes 1st Lady the following week in the Dyce half marathon (way to go Penny!)....

Meanwhile, Sandra Reid's transition to triathlon (oops, bad pun) continues with a stonking time at Alford at the weekend, alongside GRR's Steve Barrett & Donna Gray.

Cant forget to mention the Balmedie 10k a couple of week's back, where our GRR runners Graham Thomson & Hazel Riddell were rewarded for their efforts on the tough sandune course with placings of 4th & 2nd respectively.

Dont ya just love it! - Well done eveybody, apologies to anyone I've missed out, there's just been too much happening to catch up on everything
