Marathon News
Its been a busy week of marathon running, in a variety of weather conditions:-

Boston Marathon
Assynt Macleod & Bruce Taylor made the trip over the big pond to run the 111th running of this undulating course.
Having a nor'easter weather storm batter the city of Boston overnight with 60mph gusts of wind & driving rain, it was with some relief to line up at the start with only cold, blustery headwinds & driving rain to contend with(ie typical Scottish spring marathon training run weather!).
Finish times were as follows:-
Assynt Macleod 3:23:38
Bruce Taylor 3:25:33

London Marathon
Brian Ross was GRR's club runner in this years flora London marathon. In this, his marathon debut, Brian finished in a time of 4:22:01
Brian said that his legs felt like jelly after 15 miles, which is hardly surprising considering the 'cookout' conditions of 25DegC in the afternoon

Lochaber Marathon
Meanwhile slightly closer to home, Sandra Reid, David Blane & Steven Barrett took part in the Lochaber marathon in Fort William.
In classic west cost weather (wet) well suited to marathon running a couple of PBs were notched up:-
Sandra Reid 3:38:56 (PB)
David Blane 3:09:36 (PB)
Full marks to Steven Barrett who was man enough to call it a day in the middle of the race, having started the race feeling unwell.

Well done everyone!

============================

Congratulations to Donna Gray who took part in the Clachnaben Hill race the other week, finishing in a time of 1:53:47.

============================

Congratulations to Rab Murray who got on the podium at the weekend's Fyvie 5k by finishing 3rd in a time of 18:30.
It was a great family day out with Rab's daughter finishing as first female in a time of 21:55
Well Done!
