GariochRR This Week

July 16, 2007Running despatches from the heart of the Garioch
Announcements
Congratulations to David Blane and Rab Murray who took part in the Elgin 10m race at the weekend in hot conditions. Rab tells me that he got caught out by some shambolic race organising, resulting in him missing the starting gun, but this doest seem to have stopped him for posting a good time:-
David Blane 69:48 (11th Overall)
Rab Murray 73:04

Well Done guys!

============================

Congratulations Gillian Burtwell who took part in last weekend's Heart of the Park Challenge at Braemar finishing in a time of 1hr 45m.
Gillian tells me the race was rerouted due to storm damage, stretching the course length to a hilly 12.8km with thigh deep bogs, various styles and gates, but unfortunately no river crossing due to the high water level after all the rain. Too bad, as after all that mud it would have been so good to go through the river. Gillian thoroughly recommends pencilling this race in your callendar for next year; hard going but fun!

Well done Gillian!

The race is to be completed by teams of 4, each doing a 10k run & 20k cycle.
