===========================================

Well done to everyone who took part in last week's BRG Challenge. This low profile event proved anything but terrain-wise; the race starter described the route as follows (without the thick broch accent) "the first 6 miles are fairly flat, the next four are slightly undulating, and the rest...well you'll see for yourselves when you get there"
And indeed the first 10m were as described, but thereafter the remaining 7.5m substantiated the 'challenge' in 'BRG challenge'.
I didn't realise we still had roads that steep anymore, with steeper sections that the toughest tour de france stage - a 20% descent into Pennan and then another 20% out of the place.
No official race times available at the time of going to press, approx times as follows:-
Rachael Patterson 2:32
Grahame Thomson 2:12
Bruce Taylor 2:16
Brian Ross 2:22

Congratulations also to Gillian Burtwell, Gillian's Mum and Chantel Clark who took on the BRG challenge by bike, which must have been equally testing with all the hills & nasty headwind.
Chantel was particularly pleased coming in 1st lady!

Well done everyone!
