GariochRR Xmas Party

Thanks to everyone who got in touch last week about our xmas party plans; the foodie critics have been out doing their homework & the word on the street is that the KA has slipped abit since changing hands earlier this year, so some alternative venues are being investigated, including the Inverurie Golf Club. If you have any venue suggestions, please contact Ian Cran (ian.cran@yahoo.co.uk) Please also help Ian get an idea of the likely numbers by letting him know if you want to come along (Ian has all the replies from last week).
For the uninitiated, last year we went to the Kintore Arms hotel in Inverurie for one of their 'bring a party to a party' evenings, which by all accounts was pretty good fun.
We also have one of the best raffles prizes that money cant buy - the club place in the 2008 london marathon! Anybody who has applied for the FLM and didnt get a ballot place is eligible to take part in the draw, just bring along your rejection slip on the night, and who knows, you may have more than a sore head in the morning to worry about.....

What's Up This Week
Tuesday Evening...

Club Run round Inverurie.
Usual Meeting time of 6.30pm at the foyer in the Garioch Sports Centre.
There's a choice of distances including 5m/6m/7m & 8.6m & even the odd hill for added fun.
GRR also has an arrangement with the sports centre for free use of their changing & shower facilities (just say you are with GRR at reception).

Thursday Evening...

Club Run round Inverurie.
Usual Meeting time of 6.30pm at the foyer in the Garioch Sports Centre.
Despite the less than ideal running surface, this isnt as bad as it sounds; its fully lit throughout, and at this time of year a clear crisp autumnal evening can be quite refreshing.

Saturday 27th

Club run from Esson's car park, Bennachie. Meet at 8.00am for an off-road run on our favourite hill.

or

theres the Cairngorm Charmer; 4m Run + 4m Mountain Bike + 4m Run.
Enter as teams of 2, starting at Coire Cas ski area lower car park, 1100hrs (note no entries on the day)

Sunday 28th

Apologies for last week's false start, but I am reliably informed that the clocks really do go back an hour this weekend, meaning that there's still time to schedule extra hour in bed/extra long training run (delete as appropriate).

or

theres the Methlick Duathlon.
This comprises of a 5Km Off-Road Run / 18Km Bike / 3Km Off-Road Run, followied by a plate of stovies (now we're talking, forget yer cotton t-shirts, give me stovies anytime).
Registration is at Methlick Bowling Club from 0915, race starts at 1015.

Have a great week

Run Long and Taper.
The GariochRR team.
