Announcements
Hello again from the GariochRR - work commitments have led to a dearth of GRR news, but theres been plenty of GRRers in action over the last few weeks. Here's a quick update on whats been going on:-

======================================

Congratulations to David Blane who shipped himself off to sunnier climes last month for a spot of winter racing. He ran a 5k at the Texas University campus in College Station, Texas, called "The 1st Race with the Mustangs".
Dave managed to come in 6th overall and first vet, with a PB time of 18:22 - despite the locals describing the course as hilly, Dave said the course was so flat you could have put a marble down and it would hardly have rolled away...

On his return to the UK, David then had a go at the 5k Christmas Cracker in Aberdeen’s Seaton Park on Sunday 9th and finished on the podium in 2nd, in a time of 18.44.

Well done!
======================================

Congratulations to Steven Ord who ran the Fraserburgh half marathon, setting a PB of 1:41.23. Steve said it was perfect weather for doing a half especially for the broch, cool with slight drizzle and slight breeze.

Well done Steve
====================================

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the Round the Castles Cross Country series last month:-
Nicola Redgwell 26:13 (10th)
Melanie Allan 27:54
Dave Roberts 42:20

Well Done!
======================================

Congratulations to Ian Cran & Tazmin Morris who ran the Proms 3k earlier this month, finishing in a time of 12:11 and 13:35 respectively

Well done!
====================================

Congratulations to everyone who ran the Lossiemouth Turkey trot at the weekend:-
David Blane 63:04
Steve Barrett 69:49
Steven Ord 72:29

Well done!
====================================

Apologies to everyone who was banking on getting some GariochRR Club Merchandise as xmas pressies - the last month seems to have disappeared before we have had a chance to get going. However, it will be arranged early in the new year.

====================================

Check out the latest edition of the 'My Race' magazine for a couple of photos of GRRers in the Aviemore half marathon & the Moray Marathon.

====================================

The GariochRR Xmas party was held at the weekend - photographic evidence of the event will be published shortly.
The draw for the club place in the London marathon took place - Jason Wilson has been selected - good luck Jason!

What's Up This Week
Tuesday Evening...

Club Run round Inverurie.
Usual Meeting time of 6.30pm at the foyer in the Garioch Sports Centre.
There's a choice of distances including 5m/6m/7m & 8.6m & even the odd hill for added fun.
GRR also has an arrangement with the sports centre for free use of their changing & shower facilities (just say you are with GRR at reception).

Thursday Evening...

Club Run round Inverurie.
Usual Meeting time of 6.30pm at the foyer in the Garioch Sports Centre.
Despite the less than ideal running surface, this isnt as bad as it sounds; its fully lit throughout, and at this time of year a clear crisp autumnal evening can be quite refreshing.
Click here showing the meeting point (use the zoom to find your bearings).

Saturday 22nd

Club run from Esson's car park, Bennachie. Meet at 8.30am for an off-road run on our favourite hill. The last few weeks have been particuarly good, with clear, slightly frosty mornings that leave you feeling glad to be alive (well glad to have made the effort & got out of bed early for a run at any rate...

Have a great week & a good xmas!

Run Long and Taper.
