Assynt's
Leaving Doo
Our chairman has finally got the green light to
go and work in Houston for a couple of years.
In case you didnt
get his e-mail last week, theres a final soiree planned on the
evening of Friday 29th Feb, consisting of a trip to Inverurie's
Spice of Life and then a few drinks at Edwards.
Please send
Assynt a text on 07717 346652 if you plan coming along so he can get
an idea of
numbers.

Steve
Waites is busy organising the schedule for the first half of the
summer runs (hoorrah - wont be long thankfully before its time to
head out of Inverurie).
If you've got any suggestions for some
new runs etc. then now would be a good time to get in touch with
Steve (subsea@virgin.net)
He has also set a date for our AGM
- Thursday 17th April at 8.00pm at the usual place, Garioch Sports
Centre.

Marathoners
Needing Your Support
We have a couple of spring-time marathon
runners doing some splendid fundraising for some deserving
charities; Jason Wilson is running this years London marathon and
Rachael Paterson is running the Paris marathon.
Heres some info
on them both & details on how you can help support their chosen
charities:-
Jason was fortunate(?) enough to get the GRR Club
place for this year's London Marathon. He has been running for 4
years, but this will be his first full marathon. He has elected to
raise some money for Dreams Come True - a UK charity that helps
fulfil the dreams of children with serious or terminal illnesses.
Visit their website (
http://www.dctc.org.uk/ ) to see
the good work they do.

also has a
blog ,
so you can see how his training is going.
Rachael has
been running for 5 years, but this will be her first full marathon.
She apparently chose to run the Paris marathon after hearing rumours
of cheese and wine on offer at the 32km water station.....She is
raising money for the Huntington's Disease Association.
Theres a
grand wee article that appears in this weeks Huntly Advertiser that
has lots more background. Click
