Congratulations to Dave Roberts who took part in yesterday's Round the Castles at House of Dunn, Montrose.
Dave finished 17th in a time of 48:47, and 11th overall in the entire castle series.

Well Done!

Congratulations to Davie Blane who took part in yesterday's Nain 10k, beating his PB (set way back in 1996) with a time of 37:09 (13th Overall)

Well done!

Congratulations to Rab Murray and Mossie the dog who took part in the 4th running of the BHR nite run on 27th Feb, finishing in times of 1:30:44 and 1:30:43 respectively.
Rab says he was really chuffed when he arrived at the car park to find loads of people there, thinking at last the club has come out in force. It turned out it was the Scouts on nite manouevers; still Rab and Mossy got a heros sent off at tthe start line!. Lack of full moon had a an affect on the time , but blown trees over the path near the end had the runners all over the place !
Rab asked to remind everyone that prize giving is in April after #5 bhr nite, the fastest dog spot is gone , so is best vet man , senior man is in the balance , the female vet and senoir spots are there to be claimed.
BHR #4 nite its on good friday after sunset - all you need is a head torch and a bit off care.

Well done to Rab the nite runner!

Steve Waites has been busy checking out locations for a GRR road trip, and would like to gauge interest in a trip to Groningen in the north of Holland.
On the 21st September there will be a full marathon, half marathon and 10K, something for everyone, and I'm sure there will be plenty of cafe's open for those who don't even want to run!
You can check out the city and marathon site here and here.

The marathon site is mostly in Dutch but there is a link down the left hand side for "Foreign Information"

Steve has only briefly looked into costs but the days of cheap air fares are long gone. We can fly to Groningen directly from Aberdeen with BMI, which is part of the attraction, and Expedia quotes flights and 3 nights in a hotel for £330 so I guess it would be somewhere in that region.
Can anyone interested in going please get in touch with Steve (subsea@virgin.net)

He has also set a date for our AGM - Thursday 17th April at 8.00pm at the usual place, Garioch Sports Centre.
====================================

Look out for a photo of GRR's Donna Gray in today's P&J energy supplement, in the posh party photo section.

Help Wanted: Garioch10k
The folks that organise the Garioch 10k have been in touch asking if anybody would like to help out with the marshalling of the Garioch 10k on the 13th of April.
They need about 20 in total but if we could provide any it would help. They are using timing chips this year and will need a few people at the end to remove the chips from the ankles of knackered runners.
GRR's Ian Cran is your contact if you can help out. Ian also tells me that a couple of us are needed to go out on the course early on race day morning to mark up the course.
