Well done!
====================================
Congratulations to GRR's David Blane who got on the podium as 2nd Vet in the overall finishings for the Proms 3k series over the winter.

Well done!
====================================
Congratulations to GRR's Phil Owens who was over stateside last week to compete in the Boston marathon. Phil managed to get round the famous course in 4:02:34, which Phil says he's pretty pleased about considering the foot problems he's been having.
Phil said 'I had a great time, in a great city - it was an un-forecasted hot day and as you may know the course is in one direction so I only have a tan on my right hand side!. It was just a runners heaven all weekend – truly amazing and if truth be known I’m still raving about it and although I am only just back from the physio at lunch time, I’m itching to get the shoes back on and then plan the next one.'

Well done Phil!

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the Balmoral 10k race at the weekend. Times were as follows:-
Gillian Burtwell 59:52
Cameron Leel 42:54
Craig Kelly 47:11
David Blane 40:11
Duncan Leel 44:23
Manfred Nelson 56:59

Well done everyone!
====================================

Congratulations to the GRRers who were over in Fort William at the weekend for the Lochaber marathon. Time were as follows:-
Sandra Reid 3:55:48
Brian Ross 3:45:02 (PB)
Bruce Taylor 3:25:50
Steve Barrett 3:27:39

Sandra was pleased with her run; culminating in an emotional moment as she ran to the finish line accompanied by her son Thomas, both of them grinning from ear to ear - great stuff!

Brian said afterwards he was delighted with his time, knocking a whopping 37mins off his PB from London last year!

Bruce was also pleased with his time, 'I've almost got the hang of pacing this race distance; its taken 16 attempts, but I've finally managed to follow the marathon textbook and get negative splits. It makes for a much more enjoyable second half of the race as you slowly pick off the runners who set off too fast.' he said.

Steve was also in jubilant mood, and so he should be - not only did he get a great finish time, Steve had earlier in the week decided that running 26.2miles wasnt hard enough, so had gone out for some last minute training, adding an 18miler to the log book on the Thursday before.....

Well done everyone!
