Announcements
Well hello again fellow runners, long time no hear?
An overwhelming workload seems to have consumed spring and summer, and before you know it, half the running season has gone by.......

So a quick update is in order before heading off on holiday for a couple of weeks (trainers packed of course!)

Here's what's some of the folks at GariochRR have been up to in the last few months (apologies in advance for any old news, and to anyone who gets missed out....there's been a lot of running and racing going on over the last few months, too much to mention in one go)

====================================
Congratulations to David Blane who has been putting in some fine performances lately, including a couple of podium finishes....

Dunecht 5k 4th palce in 18.00
Longside 10k - 8th place in 38:07
Beach 5k - 11th place in 17:48
Fyvie 5k - 6th place in 18:32
Oldmeldrum 5 miler - 2nd place in 26.57
Skene Short triathlon - 3rd place in 47.16

I dunno what make of breakfast cereal Dave eats these days, but here's hoping he shares this with us, I for one really ought to try some - Well done Dave!
====================================
Congratulations to GRR's Tasmin Morris who got her first ever podium finish at the Fyvie 5k last month, finishing 2nd lady in a time of 22:22. She also got 3rd senior lady at the Follow the Herring 10k at Portsoy in a time of 47:03.

Well done!
====================================
Congratulations to GRR's Grahame Thomson who completed the Highland Cross duathlon race from Kintail through Glen Affric to Beauly in an impressive time of 4:42:43
Also competing was GRR's Sandra Reid, a regular competitor in the Highland Cross over the years, finishing in a time of 5:12:26

Well done!
====================================

GRR's Steven Ord is back running again after an enforced layoff from a knee injury since the end of March. He's been gradually building up the distance of his runs again, and was recently out on Bennache when he got mixed up with the Cosmic's Bennachie race a couple of weeks ago. He ended up running the race and completing it in a time of 46:09, although this did come at a price, having fallen on his knee on the downhill descent in the process (ouch!). He doesnt seem to be much worse for wear, having competed in the Ballater 10miler last weekeend & finishing in a time of 1:28:20

Well done, but take it easy dude!
====================================

Congratulations to Craig Kelly who got himself a PB at the Stonehaven half marathon earlier in the month, in a time of 1:32:29.
Its a tough course to get a PB on, and bodes well for the September's Elgin marathon that he's signed up for.

Well done !

Best Wishes for a Speedy Recovery

Our best wishes for a speedy recovery go out to Hazel Riddel who got in touch lately to explain her absence from club runs for the past wee while. Hazel has'nt been running much lately having recently undergone back surgery last month to fix out some Sciatic pain that's been niggling for a while now. She says it felt great for all of 2 weeks afterwards, but the Sciatica has returned again...heres hoping you can make a steady recovery, and that we'll see you oot and aboot real soon, Hazel.
