GariochRR This Week

Aug 25, 2008Running despatches from the heart of the Garioch
Announcements
Our long lost former club chairman (Assynt Macleod) has been in town on a flying visit over the past few days to test out his legs on some hills; if you remember, Assynt now resides in Houston (big on appetites and small on hills), so despite the miserable rain on Thurday, our Assynt was determined not to deny his legs the pleasures of the Pitfichie Cycle trail. And it was no real surprise that he led the way, yomping upstream to the mist-shrouded hilltop.
Assynt said that he was having a grand old time in Houston, having joined the Houston Striders running club, signed up for the Houston marathon in January, and found a couple of restaurants that would serve him kiddies-sized portions.
He also mentioned that he's been out training/racing with some US olympic trialists....
