Bennachie Hill Race Update
A big thanks you
to everyone who helped out with the organisation & runnning of
this year's Bennachie Hill race. After a fairly miserable day of
weather on Saturday when we were out marking the course, a
brilliant, sunny Autumn race day followed. This seemed to bring out
the crowds with a total of 131 entrants for the hill race, which was
an increase of almost 30 entrants from last year. We managed to
have enough marshalls for the race to still get a bunch of GRRers to
take part in the race; results as follows:
Nicola Redgwell
1:33:04 Duncan Leel 1:20:41 Ian Cran 1:20:50 James
Macgregor 1:12:25 Pete Stephen 1:46:19 Rab Murray
1:09:05 Richard Ingram 1:20:59 Steve Ord 1:14:29
Congratulations to Cameron Leel who managed to win the
Junior Hill race, by the narrowest of margins (1sec) in a time of
19:56
Congratulations also to Pete Stephens who continued his
record run of completing all 19 stagings of the BHR
race!
Well Done
Everyone! ==================================== Rab (the night
runner) Murray asked to put out a request for a spare race entry for
the forthcoming Aviemore Half marathon.
What's
Up This Week
Tuesday Evening...
Club Run round
Inverurie. Usual Meeting time of 6.30pm at the foyer in the
Garioch Sports Centre. Despite the less than ideal running
surface, this isnt as bad as it sounds; its fully lit throughout,
and at this time of year a clear crisp autumnal evening can be quite
refreshing.

Bagel
Boy Recommends....
What to eat after your bagel?
Your food
intake should be a balanced one - so after a healthy low-fat bagel,
how about a naughty chocloate brownie? The new Deli in Inverurie
(the Kilted Frog) provided a platter of these for the Bennachie Hill
race tea tent, and apparently they were divine..... |
