Bennachie Hill Race Update

We got quite a few 'thank you' e-mails following the BHR & we thought it might be worth sharing a couple of them with you - all that effort was not in vain!....

'I ran in the Bennachie race on Sunday and just wanted to say thank you to your club for putting on such a good event. It had a really friendly atmosphere, was a good course with plenty of helpful marshals.
Please thank them for me.
I was up from Newcastle visiting friends in Dundee and to get a race in during the week was a real bonus.
Thanks again to all concerned.'
Dave Johnson, North Shields Polytechnic Club

'Just to let you know we really enjoyed Sunday and hopefully we will have even more of our group next year.
I took some photographs and they are on our blog, feel free you use any of them.
There is a really good one of girl think she was marshalling, i said she looked like a smurf!! See what you think!! ha ha.

====================================
Congtratulations to everyone who took part in a showery and very blistery Aviemnre half marathon at the weekend. The course was changed (by all accounts for the better) with the downhill road section now replaced with a run down the accomplanying cinder path, and an improved finish section that avoided the nasty hill to the finish line; results (based on gun times) were as follows:

Jane Morrison 1:54:15
Bruce Taylor 1:36:53
Duncan Leel 1:40:27
John Parr 1:39:03
Steve Ord 1:36:26

Well Done Everyone!

====================================
Congratulations to GRR's Phil Owens who took part in the Berlin marathon last month finishing in a cracking time of 3:46:25

Well Done Phil!

What's Up This Week

Tuesday Evening...

Club Run round Inverurie.
Usual Meeting time of 6.30pm at the foyer in the Garioch Sports Centre.
Despite the less than ideal running surface, this isnt as bad as it sounds; its fully lit throughout, and at this time of year a clear crisp autumnal evening can be quite refreshing.

Bagel Boy Recommends....
What to eat after your bagel?

Your food intake should be a balanced one - so after a healthy low-fat bagel, how about a naughty chocloate brownie?
The new Deli in Inverurie (the Kilted Frog) provided a platter of these for the Bennachie Hill race tea tent, and apparently they were divine.....
