James Bluford Wilkinson

Born in 16 August 1833 in DeKalb Co. TN, the son of John Marion Wilkinson and Serena Webb Cantrell.
He joined the Regiment on 18 May 1861 at Smithville, Dekalb County.
In August 1863 he was on duty with General Wright's Headquarters.
Captured at the Battle of Chattanooga, 23-25 November 1863, and sent to Rock Island, IL.
He wished to take the oath, and go home, on 18 March 1864, but finally took the oath on 12 May 1865.
He married Hannah Potter on the 19 December 1853 in DeKalb Co. Tennessee, daughter of Thomas Potter and Fatama Webb. They had 13 children: Albert H.; Henderson Buchanan; James B.: Mary Elizabeth: Daniel W,; Frank; Stanton S.; Daniel D.; Cleveland C.; Oscar L.; John Bluford jr: Julia & William Claude Wilkinson.
The family moved to Texas arriving 1 July 1879.
Successfully filed for his Confederate Civil War service pension in Denton Co. Texas on October 14, 1909.
He was to die on the 18 October 1919 and both him and his wife are buried at the Trinity Cemetery, Denton County, Texas.
