Born on the 10 December 1843 the son of James Anderson and Elizabeth Smoot of Warren County, TN.

On the death of his parents only 3 years after his birth he, along with his siblings, was raised by his eldest brother Elijah Anderson.

He enlisted on the 23 May 1861.

He was sick at White Sulphur Springs, (West) VA, on or about 28 October 1862.

He married Olive ‘Ollie’ Melton 27 December 1866 in Warren County.

He died in Tannin County, TX, 15 March 1923.
