"Everyone listen up, Charlie and Harry want a quick meeting with us all in the staffroom at the end of the shift, Tony can you make sure everyone gets the message," Collette said at the beginning of their shift on Monday. Although there were not many patients in that day so far everyone seemed to be running around. Collette seemed to be the messenger for the whole department however much work she had on. Charlie was showing Roxy the ropes in resus, Simon was skiving and Anna was stuck up in x-ray with a patient. Her, Dillon and Tony were coping with the cubicles between them and Lara was having to cover all of them herself leaving Harry busy in resus. "I assume you got the message," Tony said to Jack who was to preoccupied with the fact Nikki had just walked in. "We’ve got to come to that as well do you know what it’s about," Nikki asked. "No idea probably some new fangled scheme to make members of the public trust us again, wont work I bet," Jack replied flicking a pen around because he was bored. "Well you lot are extremely busy today," Comfort said sarcastically. "Well unless you bring them in we can’t treat them," Tony replied. "Well we’ve got another shout so come on Nikki, see you later boys." The rest of the day was much the same, if anything there were even fewer patients. Everyone was in the staffroom at the end of the shift suggesting ideas about what the meeting was about. Eventually Charlie and Harry walked in together. "Quiet everyone, quiet come on," Harry said as everyone turned round to face them. "As I am sure you are all aware after recent events that general morale is very low and that we need to rebuild our relationship with the public," Charlie added as people started to groan. "Told yeh," Jack whispered to Dillon sitting next to him. "But we also feel there’s a need to work on the morale of the team. The Norwok virus was a bad time but that was under no circumstances because of negligence on our part. We feel that, whatever messages we get from upstairs about how poor we are, we are a bloody good team and that we deserve some recognition of this fact." "What’s this about Harry?" Collette asked as confused as all the others. "We’ve organised a trip for everyone to Blackpool," Charlie said laughing at the sudden silence that filled the room. "Obviously we can’t pay for the whole lot not with the Trust in the way it is but travel and accommodation are paid for, we leave Friday evening at seven o’clock. We’ll give you more details later on but everyone is to attend unless they’ve got an exceedingly good excuse," Harry finished off and left. The room was again filled with chatter as people looked at each other in amazement. "A weekend away in a hotel together nice," Jack said to Nikki laughing. "Well I was planning to see slightly more of Blackpool then the inside of a room but I can see the attractions." "I know what she means," Finn whispered to Comfort behind him. "It will be good to get away from all the hassles round here for a bit, might sought I few things out in my mind," she replied. Finn wasn’t quite sure what she meant but she was still smiling. "Good idea don’t you think," Charlie said to Duffy after the others had walked past him. "Yeah, shame I wont be able to be there with you," She replied. "Course you will be." "Haven’t you forgotten something, what am I supposed to do about the boys?" "Your mum’s agreed to look after Paul, the other two can come with us, I’ll help you look after them." "They’ll love it, it’ll be great, shame Louis can’t come," she replied ecstatic.
