There are three diary segments here, all are lifted from "The colour prints of Hiroshige", by Edward F. Strange. They are almost literatim, with the exceptions of "nudle" and "Yedo" (Edo). I cannot be sure about the other place names. All annotations except one (qualified) are by Strange.

The copyright on these is debatable - I have included as little of Strange's material as possible, but he did do the translation. From someone else's transcripts. I have put them here because I believe they should be highly accessible to anyone interested in Hiroshige. I would highly recommend Edward Strange's book too.

Most of the original diaries of Hiroshige were destroyed in 1923.
