Kingsnorth – Tenterden Circuit – Woodchurch Circuit - Kingsnorth

The course that the KCA will be using for the 22 June 100 is set out below with intermediate mileages in ():

Start on old A2070 2.561 miles south of Magpie Hall Lane Crossroads & north of Orlestone Lodge near Sugarloaf crossroads (MR 994350). Proceed to Magpie Hall Lane Crossroads where turn left (M) (2.561miles) 2.561miles.

Proceed via Stubbs Cross to New Street Farm & junction with A28 (2.395miles) 4.956miles.

Turn left (M) & follow A28 via Bethersden & High Halden (Care traffic calming islands), London Beach & St Michaels to Tenterden & junction with B2080 (8.901 miles) 13.857miles.

Turn left (M) & proceed on B2080 through Leigh Green, Reading Street, (Care – hard left-hand bend & busy garden centre on right) to T junction north of Appledore. Turn right (M) & proceed through Appledore High Street (Care parked cars both sides) to Canal bridge. Turn hard left over bridge (M). (6.016mles) 19.873miles

Stay on B2080 & proceed via Appledore Station level-crossing (Trains run on Sundays so GREAT CARE) & Snargate, straight over Brenzett small RAB to Brenzett RAB (Little Chef) & junction with A2070/A259 (3.967 miles) 23.840 miles.

Turn left (M) onto A2070 & proceed to the left turning at top of Ham St Hill (5.050 miles) 28.890miles.

Turn left (M) & immediately right (M) onto old A2070.(0.111miles) 29.001miles.

Proceed to Magpie Hall Lane Crossroads (3.016miles) 32.017 miles.

Turn left (M) into Magpie Hall Lane & repeat this Tenterden circuit back to Magpie Hall Lane crossroads. (29.456miles) 61.473miles.

Turn left (M) into Magpie Hall Lane & proceed to Stubbs Cross (0.949miles) 62.422miles.

Turn left (M) & proceed through Shadoxhurst to Woodchurch T junction (Lower Rd & Front Rd). Turn left (M) to junction with B2067 (4.6000miles) 67.022miles.

Turn left (CARE. M) & after 400 yards leave B2067 & proceed straight on via Appledore Heath to Appledore, passing junction with B2080, & continue through village to Canal bridge (3.697miles) 70.719miles.

Turn hard left over bridge (M) & staying on B2080, proceed via Appledore Station & Snargate, straight over Brenzett small RAB to Brenzett RAB (Little Chef) & junction with A2070/A259 (3.967miles) 74.686miles.

Turn left (M) onto A2070 & proceed to the left turning at top of Ham St Hill (5.050miles) 79.736miles.

Turn left (M) & immediately right (M) onto old A2070 (0.111miles) 79.847miles.

Continue to Magpie Hall Lane Crossroads (3.016miles) 82.863miles.

Turn left (M) into Magpie Hall Lane & repeat circuit via Woodchurch & Appledore to Brenzett RAB (Little Chef) (13.213miles) 96.076miles.

Turn left (M) onto A2070 to FINISH at a point 25 yards north of overhead power lines, north of bridge over Royal Military Canal & 0.6 miles north of right turn to Ham Street village (Johnson’s Corner) before Ham Street Hill (MR 998326) (3.924miles) 100miles.

KENT LEAGUE TIME TRIAL COMPETITION 2008

The 2007 comptition was won by Paul Burrows – Kent Cycles. Kent Cycles (Burrows, Chalkley and Bee) won the Team award. Carol Gandy was the top Vet, and Gary Chalkley and Carol won the Vets Team. A clean sweep by the Kent Cycles. The full result can be downloaded here...

12 HOUR COURSE

We have the first details of the 12 hour course for this year. Keep up to date with the 12 Hour on its own website at kca12hour.org.uk

Start in unclassified road at P.Pole 400 yards west of the Bull Inn Bethersden. Proceed east to the A28 where left through Bethersden and Singleton RAB to turn at the Ashford (Matalan RAB) and retrace through Singleton RAB to New Street Farm. Turn left into Magpie Hall Lane and left again onto old A2070. Continue through Park Farm RAB to take 3rd exit on Kingsnorth 2 RAB. Fork left within 300 yards to pass under the orbital road to Cloverleaf RAB. Take 1st exit onto A2070 through Bridgefield RAB to Brenzett RAB (Little Chef) junction of A259/A2070/B2080. (20.612 miles)
Take second exit at Brenzett RAB (Little Chef) on to A.259 and follow via Brookland RAB to East Guldeford where left via Camber to Lydd, skirting the town to join the B.2075 (care) and proceed to Hammonds Corner where left onto A.259 to Brenzett RAB (Little Chef). (42.032 miles)
Take second exit at Brenzett RAB (Little Chef) onto B2080 towards Appledore, turn right (M) over bridge and immediately left (M) on Canal Road to Rye junction A268 left (M) via mini RAB (M) and A259 to Brooklands RAB take 2nd exit to Brenzett RAB (Little Chef) (59.529 miles)

Tenterden circuit Take 2nd exit onto A2070 and proceed to the left turning at top of Ham Street Hill (M) where riders turn left (M) and immediately right (M) to join old A2070.
Continue to Magpie Hall Lane crossroads, turn left (M). Proceed via Stubbs Cross to New Street Farm junction with A28. Turn left (M) and follow A28 via Bethersden and High Halden (Care traffic calming islands) London Beach, St Michaels, to Tenterden and junction with B2080. Turn left (M) on B2080 and proceed south east through Leigh Green, Reading Street (Care – hard left-hand bend and busy garden centre) to T junction north of Appledore. Turn right (M) through main street, (Care – parked cars both sides) to canal bridge. Turn immediately left (M) after bridge, staying on B2080 and proceed via Appledore Station level-crossing, Snargate, straight over Brenzett small RAB to Brenzett RAB (M) (Little Chef). (88.985 miles)

Riders turn left and complete one further Tenterden circuit to Brenzett RAB (Little Chef) (118.441 miles)

Woodchurch circuit. Riders turn left via Ham Street Hill to Magpie Hall Lane crossroads where riders turn left (M) and proceed to Stubbs Cross riders turn left (M). Proceed through Shadoxhurst, to Woodchurch ‘T’ junction (Lower Road and Front Road) (M) riders turn left (care) then proceed to ‘T’ junction with B2067 to turn left (M) and proceed to Appledore junction with B2080 (M) where riders continue through village to canal bridge. Turn immediately left (M) after bridge staying on B2080 and proceed via Appledore Station and Snargate, straight over Brenzett small RAB to Brenzett RAB (M) (Little Chef) (139.831 miles)

Riders complete one further Woodchurch circuit to Brenzett RAB (Little Chef) (161.221 miles)

Riders complete one further Woodchurch circuit to Brenzett RAB (Little Chef) (182.621 miles)

Riders turn left on A2070 to Ham Street Hill turning left and right to join old A2070 to Magpie Hall Lane crossroads where riders turn left (M) to New Street Farm, junction with A28. Riders turn left on A28 to join the finishing circuit at Gable Hook Farm. (194.622 miles)
