2003 July: Short sessions in summer nights about midnight to include variable Rho Cas [featured in S&T July 2003 article All Eyes on Cassiopeia] at dispersion of 3.23A/pixel via the WPO spectrograph using the B band head for common reference.Emission lines stars include permanent nova P Cyg [S Dor type] and b Lyr both with numerous H + He emission lines and b Cyg2 [Albireo's blue companion]. Note combined red/blue absorption shift for b Cyg2 Ha emission line and separate red/blue shifts to b Lyr's helium [He] emission lines.
g [gamma] Cas types g Cas, V832 Cyg, V568 Cyg, V1746 Cyg, upsilon Cyg.
**Mira variable U Cyg is a carbon star with exceptionally bright Ha in emission currently.
Additional variables include A/B spectral types eg a Cyg [a Cyg type], V1661 Cyg [a Cyg type], V373 Cas [E/GS type] all with very weak Ha absorption line plus a Lyr for comparison with classic strong and broad Ha absorption line. V1488 Cyg - K5 - is EA/GS/D variable.
