• exposure duration indicates relative transparency and brightness of star eg fainter stars/ higher res need longer exposures for a good S/N ratio.
• Mira variable R Lep [Hind's Crimson Star] - a carbon spectrum and one of the reddest stars in the sky. 28 Tau [M45] GCAS emission star.
• some var stars R Tri, SU Tri plus b/g Tri for reference and HM Lyr.
• stars in Taurus with gibbous moon nearby in Aries eg Alpha, IM [DSCT], upsilon [DSCT], T* [INT]; zeta* [GCAS]; * =emission line stars.
• FU Ori linked to Orion YSOs.
• YY Gem is a short period variable of unusual M-type spectrum with Ha [?] in emission a few arc-secs Sf Castor.
• Fascinating Wolf-Rayet stars have carbon [WC] or nitrogen [WN] in peaked blue emission via the highest stellar temperatures and size.
