This is an animation of comet's northerly motion over 17 minutes [2002 Aug 4 from 23.18 -23.35UT] and the posterized image shows extent of coma.
2002 Aug 4: discovered visually last week by German amateur astronomer Sebastian Hönig with a 25cm Meade LX200; - these are my first images of the new comet via a 135mm fl lens piggy-backed and prime focus of 30cm Meade LX200 SCT whilst in Cepheus.
2002 Aug 6/9/10: 4m exposure via Starlight software in track & stack mode ie 12 x 20s exp - show rapid motion of comet.
The comet's motion obvious in 16 minutes between two wide-field telephoto shots.
