Tenerife in Canary Islands - March 2004 - these shots, reduced in size and JPG Optimized to speed download, were taken with a handheld Sony TR840E Hi8 camcorder and captured as still frames via a Hauppauger Win TV Go model 607 PC card.

Four planets graced the evening sky from the resort of  Los Gigantes - a brilliant Venus over the sea in the west, with feeble red Mars a little higher and Saturn near the zenith.  Rising over the massive cliffs to the east a brilliant Jupiter.
The map shows our trips via self-drive car during our week from our accomodation - El Sombrero Apartments.

Los Gigantes staged a boisterous four day international street carnival and festival in the town square.  The beach and lido abut the marina.

Aguillars de Teide near Los Cristianos has some beautiful creatures.

Masca village - high in the mountains on the western tip of the island via a tortuous road.

Vilaflor at 4800 ft is one of the highest villages in Spain with delightful church.

Icod and the 1000 year-old Dragon Tree - its sap is blood-red.

Snow capped Teide at 12,000ft dominates Tenerife and can be seen from most remote beaches - even the MyTravel flight home at sunset.

Puerto de la Cruz resort on the northern coast basked in sunshine with style.
