Macclesfield Airgun Club meets at the Fermain Club, Oxford Road, Macclesfield, (but look at the Members page for more specific information on the next meeting) on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 8pm Click Here to view map

Membership costs £25 per year, membership benifits are:

  • Membership of the BFTA and a BFTA shooters card
  • Use of club land for practice and competition

There is a £3 fee for club members for club day competition shoots (those Sunday shoots listed on the 'Members' page), with £1 per entry pooling for prize money, and £2 towards ground rental. Organised Wednesday evening shoots will just have the £2 ground rental fee. Non-members will be charged £5 to cover insurance costs, but if they subsequently become a member, the membership fee is reduced to £20.

Should anyone wish to view the outdoor shooting facilities on a weekday evening this can be arranged on further enquiry.

Club rules - as printed on the reverse of the MAC membership card

1) All airguns used at club events must be within the legal limit of 12ft.lbs. for rifles and 6ft.lbs. for pistols. All members must abide by current UK law regarding the use and transportation of air weapons.

2) Any ammuniton used at club events must be lead based and not containg steel of hard alloy parts.

3) Juniors (under 17) must be brought to and taken away from club events by a parent/guardian.

4) Air weapons should always be treated with care. The weapon should always be pointed towards the target during cocking, loading, and firing.

5) Members must not shoot at anything other than the designated targets.

Some Dos and Don'ts:

  • Do always assume a weapon is loaded if handed to you or left unattended.
  • Do treat high pressure air with respect - it can easily kill.
  • Don't stand behind the firing line shooting over the heads of others.
  • Don't shoot at trees, fence posts, animals or anything which isn't a designated target.
