Macclesfield AGM - Wednesday 15th January 2003
Meeting opened 8:20pm
Attended: Hugh, Adrian, Charlie, Terry, Ian, Wayne, Paul, Dave, Tony.
Apologies: Bob.
1) Minutes read and agreed from previous AGM
2) The secretary reported that it had been another steady year but that information from
the BFTA/NWFTA had become almost non-existent, and that our own shoot program had fallen
into disrepair
3) The Trasurer handed out an income and expendature report for 2002. To summarise, we had £247.76
in the bank at the start of the year, took £175 in subs, plus interest, made an income of
£424.60. Expenses were: NWFTA £45, Quarry £200, Insurance £112.25, Shooters cards £25,
Tax on interest 37p, making a total of £382.62. Thus at the end of the year we had £41.98 in
the bank. Note that membership fees for 2 new members were 'absorbed' into providing keys for the quarry, and
shoot money for the last 3 shoots was not included, it will be included in the 2003 accounts.
4) Election of Committee:
- Chairman - stays with Tony
- Treasurer - stays with Dave
- Competition Secretary - stays with Terry and Paul
- Secratary - stays with Adrian
5) Budget: Paul was congratulated on negotiating a reduction in the cost of hiring the quarry, with the proviso
that the rental will increase again if the membership increases significantly. It was proposed that the
membership fee will be kept at £25 for the time being (to be reviewed in June if it does not look like
we will make up the budget shortfall), and competition shoot fees will stay at £3 on a Sunday. Also there
will be a fee of £2 for organised Wednesday night shoots. Proposed by Terry, Seconded by Paul, All in favour.
6) Any Other Business: It was decided to retain the current handicap system for the 2003 shoots, and to have one shoot per
month. Dates were set for the first three.
It was decided that any enquiries to see the shooting facilities (ie. the quarry)
would be referred to Ian, who would be happy to indulge them on any weekday night. A map of the quarry and a contact
number will be put on a 'private' page (ie no links to it, they have to be told the exact address) on the web
site.
Paul will enquire about moving the shed up to another area of the quarry since the pit is now so deep as
to be virtually unuseable.
7) Meeting closed 9:23 pm
