Macclesfield Airgun Club AGM - 21st January 2004

Venue - in the Kitchen of the Fermain Club, 8 members present.

1. Meeting start 8:10 pm.

2. The Secretary reported the general lack of information coming from the NWFTA and the virtual non-existence of a serious program of club competitions in the previous year (2003). It was resolved to make more of an effort in 2004.

3. The Treasurer has resigned his post but provided a balance sheet for 2003. This showed the club has slightly more money in the bank now than at the start of 2003.

4. Election of committee, It was resolved to keep the committee the same except Ian would replace the outgoing treasurer, proposed by Terry, seconded by Hugh, all in favour.

5. Budget for 2004 - With a slightly lower forecast membership. It was resolved to keep membership fees and shoot fees the same as 2003, and hope that a strengthened program of shoots and practice days will more than make up for the expected shortfall. Membership fees therefore stay at £25 per year, competition £3 per shoot, practice days £1.

6. Any Other Business -

  • We need a more impressive poster for local shops etc.- Tony to look into.
  • The web site needs a serious update - Ady to action.
  • Ian to look into using a local warehouse as a meeting place and/or short range practice area, if this comes together we can drop the Fermain club as a meeting place permanently.
  • The February meeting (18th Feb) will be held in the Ox-Fford pub to examine it's feasability as a more relaxed meeting venue. A long discussion established that some members like pubs and some don't, it was suggested that the Ox-fford remains mostly empty on a wednesday evening hence the Feb meeting is an experiment.

7. Meeting ended 9:10 pm.
