Apologies from Norma Almond and Dave Fairhurst.
Minutes' not received from last meeting, so unable to read out and
verify.
Norma had sent a letter to Christine from Clwyd stating they no longer
wanted to be part of the NWFTA.
Because of the Foot and Mouth situation, Tawd Vale and Sandhall are the
only 2 clubs open in the region, therefore until further notice events
will alternate between these clubs with help, if possible from the clubs
that are closed. It was agreed that at Tawd Vale,£1-00 per visitor
would be paid to the scouts by all clubs.
Steve Pemberton suggested using Failsworth for shoots, but although this
was not felt to be a viable alternative for NW shoots, it could be used
for an 'Open'.
For NW summer shoots, 35 targets would be usedo Richard suggested 3
targets on first lane. Harry suggested staying with 2 standing and 2
kneeling, following on from discussion around 4 of each.
Presentation Evening - again it was felt that this was a most enjoyable
event. To encourage people to attend the event, especially the winners
themselves, it should be mentioned regularly at the briefings. Date was
agreed of Friday 23rd November at 8pm at St Helens RUFC. Steve Pemberton
suggested that each club should donate £20 as a gift instead of the
usual prizes.
Another milestone for one of our most loyal shooters, Richard Lees is 65
years young on 25th October. Could this be cause for another celebration?
Feedback on Sandhall shoot - everyone enjoyed the event. Roy realised,
too late; that 3 targets were over distance, but everyone agreed as it was
the same for everyone, no action would be takeno Steve made the point that
briefings were getting later, in future to be held at 9am.
Any other business - Tony Gavin proposed that we put an advertisment on
the Internet to get more members. Apparently the cost is £12 per
page, so 6 pages would work out at £72. This was seconded by Terry
Mann. Everyone voted in favour. Tony will be the link.
Tony stated he can obtain pellets at trade prices for Crossman, Webley
and Air Arms.
Time and date of next meeting is June 4th at 8pm. Please note there is
no meeting in May.
Norma Almond NWFTA Secretary 4th May 2001
Once again, many thanks to Harry for taking the minutes in my absence.
