NWFTA MEETING MINUTES MONDAY 5TH MARCH 2001

Christine handed out pamphlets for team shoot members & Winter
league positions.
Minutes of the last meeting read and agreed.
Discussion on cards for shooting in North West - still not reached a
satisfactory result, but everyone is reminded that without a card, they
are not covered by BFTA Insurance. Roy Richards requires the BFTA P.O Box
number, Christine will provide the info.
NWFTA Team - Terry Mann will hold the cash for the team.
Expenses agreed of £20 for each team member. Proposed by Richard
Lees, seconded by Steve Pemberton. In the event of lack of numbers, Roger
Lancaster, Barbara Roberts and Tony Gavin will shoot. Steve felt that
because of the Foot & Mouth situation, the event will not be held.
BFTA Meeting notes - there will be a FT Training Course in the
Midlands, run by Dave Mills. Dave Fairhurst said that this had already
been tried twice, but failed.
a) Guns, when carried, must not be cradled. They should be carried
vertically or pointing downwards.
b) Mobile phones should be switched off on the firing line.
c) Chronographs will be used on national BFTA shoots (again!).
d) Regarding the BFTA Grand Prix, the NWFTA will not lose a shoot after
this year for 3 years.
e) Weston Park is now on again.
f) The London march is now postponed until June.
g) Programme for BFTA Summer shoots, all clubs have confirmed events
will go ahead.
NWFTA news - Feedback from Tawd Vale shoot - everyone enjoyed
it. Next shoot at Byley is cancelled due to F & M situation. Graham
Barry offered to hold the event at Failsworth indoor range. This was voted
against. Sandhall have offered to run the event on 11th March.
Bernard asked about making Tawd Vale open to all shooters under the
circumstances. Discussion followed on non-membe:rs shooting in the region.
There could be problems with the grading.
Kate Longbottom has asked Davinia for the name of the Secretary from
each club plus details of an extra person.
Time and date of next meeting is Monday 2nd April 2001 at 8pm.
