MINUTES OF NWFTA MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY 6TH FEBRUARY 2001

Attended: Christine Rodgers - Vice Chairman (Tawd Vale)
Norma Almond - Secretary (Tawd Vale)
Bernard Rodgers - (Tawd Vale)
Harry Bellamy - (Tawd Vale )
Roy Richards - (Sandhall)
Terry Mann - (Byley)
Dave Schofield - (Winchester)
Paula Schofield - (Winchester)
Adrian Layden - (Macclesfield)
Richard Lees - (Stockport)
Steve Pemberton - (Byley)

Apologies from Dave Fairhurst and Davinia Wainwright.

1) Having been notified by Gordon from Clwyd that next Sunday's shoot is cancelled due to Paddy being unwell, a new venue had to be found. Paula & Dave from Winchester also expressed their concern over holding their shoot in March due to lack of help. After some discussion, Tawd Vale will hold Sunday's shoot & Byley will hold the March shoot instead of Winchester. It was agreed that for the Summer Season, Winchester & Sandhall will help one another due to lack of numbers at each club.

2) BFTA Meeting - Christine & Bernard attended the AGM last November - see copy of minutes attached.

3) NWFTA Competition Secretary - we have recently received a letter from Simon Moore giving reasons why he is having to resign from his position as Competition Secretary . (See letter attached). As we still have 2 remaining members of the Shoot Committee in post, namely, Dave Fairhurst and Dave Schofield, it was decided that we would not re-elect a new Competition Secretary until the next AGM in September.

4) NWFTA Summer League - dates & venues agreed, programmes will be issued at the last winter shoot at Byley.

5) NWFTA Regional Team - proposed list of team members circulated round the room. Final selection will be made after the next shoot at Tawd Vale and confirmed at the next meeting on 5th March. Announcement will be made at the last shoot at Byley. Expenses were agreed of œ 15-00 per team member + team entry fee will be paid by the NWFTA, although these figures need confirmation from our Treasurer, Davinia.

6) Feedback from last 3 shoots at Stockport, Byley and Oldham. All excellent shoots, although it was mentioned that mobile phones ringing on the firing line was starting to become a problem. From now on, shooters must not have their mobiles switched on when on the firing line. This will be mentioned at the next shoot briefng.

7) BFTA Cards - clubs are reminded that every member of their club should hold a BFTA card whether they shoot in competitions or not. This card is proof that they are insured. Although at the last BFTA meeting, it was decided that a bulk order for cards should be sent by the Regional Secretary, as one or two clubs have already sent their requests off, it was decided that clubs should send direct to Kate Longbottom. Clubs are also reminded that they should send a copy of their Insurance Certificate with their request for cards.

8) Apparently, there are a number of shooters living in the Whitehaven area of Cumbria who would like to join the NWFTA. If a club was to be established in that area, concerns were raised that due to the excessive distance, no one would be prepared to travel. Watch this space!

9) NWFTA monthly meetings will now be held on the first Monday of each month.

10) Time and date of next meeting is Tuesday 5th March 2001 at 8pm.
