Attended:

Norma Almond - Secretary (Tawd Vale)
Bernard Rodgers - (Tawd Vale)
Harry Bellamy - (Tawd Vale)
Steve Pemberton - (Byley)
Terry Mann - (Byley)
Richard Lees & Flash - (Stockport)
Roy Richards - (Sandhall)

Apologies from: Dave Fairhurst, Sean Smith and Davinia Wainwright.

1) Feedback from Presentation Evening - everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed the evening, although a comment was made that there could have been more meat in the hotpot! On the plus side, however, there was plenty of food, it was hot and served up promptly! Nosh expressed concern that all the trophy winners were not there to collect their trophies and also out of the total people attending, there seemed to be more guests than shooters. We always emphasise that guests are welcome & and form an integral part of the evening, but it would be gratifying to see an increase in the number of actual shooters attending. Steve suggested that for the future, it might be worth each club making a cash donation towards the evening, as well as the usual raffle prize.

2) First Winter league shoot at Tawd Vale - Excellent shoot, sensible course, one shooter cleared the course, showing that it was achievable! Attendance of around 55 people, with there being no summer season this year, it was felt that people were champing at the bit to start shooting again. Let's hope the enthusiasm continues!

3) Venue for BFTA GP (2001) - Tawd Vale have said they would like to host next year's GP. The club has provided 2 dates in July that would be suitable. Christine will take these dates forward to the next BFTA AGM in 2 weeks. If there is any problem with Tawd Vale staging the event, Byley are happy to step in. No other clubs have expressed an interest.

4) Forthcoming BFTA AGM - Christine & Bernard Rodgers will be representing the NWFTA at future BFTA meetings. A list of proposed fee changes were sent through from the BFTA, we agreed to them all apart from the rise in Registration cards, which we felt should stay at £2-00.

5) A discussion took place around the last Showdown concerning what system we should use when shooters just don't turn up. As there will probably be 6 shoots in the Summer series, it was suggested by Terry Mann that the top 6 shooters from the first 5 shoots will qualify, with the top 2 from the last shoot. The next 4 top scores from the last shoot will be reserves. Reserves will be asked if they are willing to attend the shoot, even though they may not be required to shoot in the Showdown.

6) Next shoot at Stockport - everything in place, pray for good weather! Originally no food on offer, but since the meeting, Richard has been in touch to say there will he bacon butties etc! Yummie, yummie!!

7) Payment of Expenses - when everyone arrived at the Rugby Club for October's meeting, the club was, again, in darkness. It was agreed at the time that because this was the second time in succession that this has happened, that the NWFTA would pay expenses. The general feeling at the current meeting was that this was not necessary, but if anyone who was affected & wasn't at tonight's meeting would like reimbursing, please see our Treasurer, Davinia.

8) The point was raised that since the AGM and a new Competition Secretary was elected, namely Simon Moore, he has not attended a meeting. It was felt that, as much of the conversation is around competition in the region, his input is necessary & valuable. However, it is understand that Simon does live some distance away & that it will not always be possible for him to attend meetings.

9) Time and date of next meeting - 6th February 2001 at 8pm. Please note there will be no meetings in December and January.
