Medical Thermography
Medical Thermography is a non-invasive diagnostic technique that allows the
examiner to visualise and quantify changes in skin surface temperature.
An infrared scanning device is used to convert infrared radiation emitted
from the skin surface into electrical impulses that are visualised in colour
on a monitor.
Thermography is a non-invasive, non-contact tool that is completely safe
and uses no radiation. The medical applications of Digital Infrared Thermal
Imaging are extensive, partucularly in the fields of Oncology, Rheumatology,
Neurology, Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine.
Thermal imaging systems are an economical easy-to-use tool for examining
and monitoring patients quickly and accurately.
Today infrared thermography is suggested as a method for screening diagnostics
of many illnesses, especially in the young and pregnant women, because this
method is fast, reliable, non-contact and absolutely safe for patient and
doctor. |
