Breed Information

Nothing new here folks, hairless dogs have been around for thousands of years - the Incas considered their hairless as one of the 10 symbols of Good.

There are 26 hairless breeds in the world including the Elephant dog from Africa (One of the largest), the Mexican Hairless, the Xoloitzcuinli and the Moonflower dog plus, of course, the Chinese Crested Dog.

As you can see they have travelled around the world, some of the popular tales tell of them going to China with Marco Polo.

Gypsy Rose Lee owned Chinese Cresteds and used them in her act. This publicity brought them to the attention of the British public.
