Berriew,
Ebenezer, built circa 1829 and now, like many
Montgomeryshire country chapels, converted into a private house, is a good
example of the fact that the earlier chapels are barely distinguishable from
ordinary dwellings. It was only later in the 19th century that their design
became more formalised. |

Wern. Note the slate boarding against the prevailing sou'westers on

right hand wall records that
the site was presented to the "Welsh Congregationalists"
by the Earl of Powis. |

Llanbrynmair, Yr Hen Gapel. The second
oldest Independent chapel building in the county but the oldest cause,
this having been in existence for over half a century before the first
chapel building was erected on the site in 1739. |
