Star Trek: 25th Anniversary
25th Anniversary

This is the oldest game still available and will run on a lowly 386 processor. This game is essentially a collection of episodes strung together to form a larger adventure. Based on the point and click, with a small element of starship combat. Well worth a visit if your bag is firmly placed in the original series timeframe. If you can get hold of the "talkie" version, with the cast voices so much the better.

Satr Trek: Judgement Rites

JUDGEMENT RITES
This follows the same format as the previous game it will run on the same kind of specs. Again a point and click adventure just a newer set of missions.

Star Trek: The Next Generation A Final Unity

 A FINAL UNITY

This also follows the point and click adventure format, but this time it's SVGA, Picard and co, and reall starship combat. This is by far the best of the Star Trek adventures and although it gives the impression that you can go anywhere in the universe it carefully steers you in the course it wants to go. It features the voices of all the next gen cast and has multiple path conversations. This is just one big episode that never quite made it to the tv screen.

Star Trek: Deep Space 9 Harbinger

DS9 HARBINGER

A disapointing waste of a game. There are so many advances, the crew are rendered in 3D and don't look to bad, the visual side of the game and interface have all been drastically improved, but, and it's a big but, the gameplay is apauling. There seems to be some very dodgy arcade in low res video footage. A pity because the story is excellent and the game had the potential to be much better.

Star Trek: Generations

GENERATIONS

The first Star Trek movie tie in, and what a belter! Star Trek meets Doom! This follows the course of the film fairly closely and involves you stopping the evil Doctor Soran destroying civilisations in his quest to return to the Nexus. The game features improved starship combat from Final Unity, 3D first person perspective adventuring and the voices of the cast including William Shatner and Malcom McDowell.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy

ACADEMY

This is Wing Commander Star Trek style. You play a handsome cadet in the academy desperate to prove himself and attain a passing grade. This is basically a host of missions strung together to form a story. That said though, it is excellent fun, the only qualm I have is that the Enterprise shouldn't handle like a jet fighter! If you like Wing commander, then you'll love this.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy - Chekov's Lost Missions

An addon pack for the academy game, a few extra missions and net games.

Star Trek: Klingon Honor Guard

HONOR GUARD

The latest and possibly the best use of the Star Trek name yet. Using the UNREAL Engine, honor guard is a first person perspective game in the same mould as Doom. Visually however the differences are enormous, the sight of a disrupted adverasary fading into a red glow has to be seen to be believed. locations in the game include, Rura Penthe, Kronos and a bird of prey. There is also an excellent mulitplayer aspect to this game, you can even practise with holo opponents.

Star Trek: Klingon

A poor quality but well directed Klingon film with limited interactivity. For completists only. You play the son of a klingon digantary with a cause to prove.

Star Trek: Borg

Another FMV game but this time the footage has been improved, it has Q in it and features the Borg. A clever plot allows you to relive the battle of wolf 359 and alter history. Involving.

Star Trek: Game Show

Think you know everything about Star trek? Well Q is here to test you. Surprisingly entertaining.

Star Trek: Pinball

What can I say it's Star Trek and it's Pinball ????

Games to come:

Star Trek: Birth of the Federation Spring 99
Star Trek: Klingon Academy Spring 99
Star Trek: Starfleet Command May/June 99
Star Trek: Secret of Vulcan fury Summer 99
Star Trek: Voyager Autumn 99
Star Trek: New Worlds Winter 99
