We are Company "C" Palmetto
Sharpshooters .We in the Palmetto Sharpshooters
pride ourselves in being an up and coming Infantry Company, to maintain this we
need new Recruits, we can offer you Tuition in musket safety and drill, Tuition
in
Infantry tactics as used in the American Civil War, Assistance in furthering
your
knowledge of the War between the States, Assistance in obtaining your uniform
,accoutrements and musket. We re-enact the American Civil War at various events
throughout the South and Midlands within a premiere re-enactment society
The Southern Skirmish Association "SOSKAN" .We re-enact free form
scripted
and re-created Historical Battles we also have a living history camp at which
visitors
can see an impression of those days. The present Co,C was formed in 1988 by two
members
of SOSKAN ,Steve Atterton and Tony Sowden, when there was a request for an
Eastern
Theatre Confederate unit to be formed. From this early beginning of two members,
over the
years the Company has grown and it now stands at 31 fighting men,34 cadets,
juniors
and non combatants. We even have three descendents of original Co, C Soldiers as
Honorary
members.
