GRANBY CUM SUTTON PARISH COUNCIL

STANDING ORDERS

    1. Meetings to be held on the second Tuesday of each month except August, starting at 7.30pm and ending no later than 10pm. Discussion on planning matters when put to the meeting will have a time limit imposed to a maximum of 30 minutes.
    2. The Proper Officer and Responsible Financial Officer of the Council shall be the clerk.

    3. The clerk will draw up the agenda in consultation with the chairman. Notice of motions from councillors can be given at the preceding meeting otherwise they shall be in writing signed by the member and must be received by the clerk 10 clear days before the day of the meeting.
    4. At the Chairman's discretion members of the public present will be invited to make observations or ask questions during an adjournment of the formal meeting.

    5. Urgent matters between meetings are delegated to the clerk in consultation with the chairman.
    6. No member of the Council shall issue orders, instructions or directions unless authorised to do so by the Council.
    7. The Chairman shall be elected each year, as is the law but shall not serve for more than 3 consecutive years.
    8. These standing orders to be reviewed at each Annual meeting. Additions, deletions and amendments may be made by resolution at any meeting. Standing Orders may be suspended at a meeting so far as it regards the business of the meeting, unless so doing would conflict with Acts of Parliament.
